8 String Bass Guitars

8 String Bass Guitars double the standard number of bass strings and are generally tuned in octaves to produce a chorus effect - much like 12-string electric guitars.

The first ever 8-string bass guitars were developed by Hagstrom and at Gear4music we have a collection of 8-string basses by Warwick, Schecter and Hagstrom themselves.

With an additional 4 strings, bassists can play complex notes and chord progressions. The intuitive instruments emit massive sounds and provide a much wider soundscape than traditional 4-string bass guitars.
