Like its original 1950s ancestor, the new 2017 G6128T-53 Vintage Select '53 Duo Jet is designed with mid-50s-style sound chambers, making the guitar lightweight, and offering a superb resonance. Its chambered mahogany design magnifies harmonic richness by letting air resonate between the top and body for livelier and more articulate tone.
TV Jones T-Armond Pickups
The Gretsch G6128T-53 Vintage Select recreates that classic tone of the 1950s era with a duo of TV Jones T-Almond pickups. These pickups use large alnico cylinder magnets and thin magnet wire, and provide accurate string-to-string balance. Players can achieve a variety of thick tones, that are clear, transparent and balanced, replicating that classic DynaSonic sound we all know and love.
Compensated Aluminum Bridge With Bigsby
With a compensated aluminium bridge with a rosewood base, players can achieve excellent sustain, tone and clarity. The Gretsch G6128T-53 also features a Bigsby B3CCB Vibrato tailpiece which offers a smooth tremolo system to create classic sounding pitch bend, providing evenly spread movement across all strings. The Bigsby can be used to create subtle movements in chords, adding extra depth and texture to the player's sound.
