The Fortin Kali draws direct inspiration from the famous Jose Arredondo amplifier modifications that transformed classic British amplifiers into some of the most influential high-gain sounds in rock and metal history. Developed from the Fortin Cali amplifier platform, the Kali captures the aggressive attack, harmonic richness and saturated response associated with heavily modified Plexi and JCM-style circuits. Rather than functioning like a simple distortion pedal, the Kali behaves much more like a true amplifier preamp, delivering the feel, compression and responsiveness players expect from a professionally modified valve amp.
The Kali provides exceptional tonal flexibility through its VINT, RAW and SAT operating modes. VINT mode delivers the compressed sparkle and touch-sensitive feel of a heavily pushed vintage Plexi, making it ideal for classic rock crunch and early hot-rodded British gain tones. RAW mode removes additional saturation stages for a more open and direct response with increased clarity and articulation. SAT mode introduces Fortin’s signature saturated compression, creating huge sustain, aggressive attack and the thick modern gain structure demanded by contemporary metal players.
