That flexibility means you can dial in a bass tone to suit different playing approaches, whether you want to emphasise deeper frequencies or create a more balanced response. Paired with the Sire Standard MM pickup, the electronics are designed around a defined humbucker sound with satisfying low-end depth — giving you plenty of scope to find a tone that works with your playing.
At the centre of the Z3's sound is a Sire Standard MM pickup. Its humbucker character is geared towards deep, groovy bass tones, while the active equalisation gives you further control over how that core sound behaves. This combination makes the Z3 useful when you want more than a fixed pickup voice. You can adjust the three-band EQ to move between classic and contemporary tonal territory, helping the bass fit different musical settings. Metal dome control knobs keep those adjustments close at hand, so shaping your sound is straightforward whenever you need to make a change.
A hard maple neck and Edgeless hard maple fingerboard give the Z3 a comfortable playing platform.
