The Yamaha CLP 675 features the Grandtouch system, a highly regarded keyboard. This features keys which have been produced from a specially dried wood to create the core and the key tops are produced from a synthetic material, used for it's properties which are akin to ebony and ivory. This feel to the keys would make the CLP 675 suitable for the traditional acoustic players who are accustomed to each key having a rosbust feel. The weighted hammer action gives a more consistent and smooth motion for an expressive response. This increased playability means that it is much more similar to playing an acoustic piano - ideal for advanced musician wanting to provide the subtle nuances to a performance that only acoustic pianos could previously do.
Yamaha's individual sound takes samples from two of the world's leading pianos - the Yamaha CFX and the Bosendorfer Imperial Grand Pianos. The CFX is known as he most appreciated concert grand pianos and the Bosendorfer as the world's finest acoustic instrument. Amalgamating these two prestigious sounds, the samples provde a truely authentic piano sound. Each key is individually recorded and sampled before being tuned with each other and so performances should be as authentic as possible and so combine acoustic expression and digital convenience.
Virtual Resonance Modelling has been employed to optimise the resonance of the CLP 645. Acoustically, when the inividual hammer hits a string, the nearby strings also vibrate and provide warmth and colour to the note. The VRM technology helps to replicate this digitally and also adds an appropriate amount of decay to each note to give a more acoustic feel with textured tones and therefore removes any unnatural breaks in the sound.
Binaural Sampling Technology has been developed to give the performr a more immersive concert grand experience. When the samples have been recorded, the microphones also stored location information and other minute details so all this information helps to replicate a more authenic sound which feels more natural - even with headphones, so much so, you will forget you are wearing headphones at all. with the Yamaha CFX sound selected and headphones inserted, the binaural sound is instantly activated. You can now enjoy a concert grand experience at home, even with your headphones on.
The CLP 675 now come with 3-way speakers to best project your sound. Each speaker unit contains 16cm, 8cm and 5cm drivers which cover different frequency ranges creating a sound which is rich and dynamic whilst retaining the clarity to distinguish individual notes. The speakers are specially positioned to reflect the bass frequencies down and the treble frequencies u[ to provide the most authentic sound possible. Each of the amplifiers can provide up to 105W of power and therefore is suitable for a range of venues from classrooms to gigs and studios.
