Authentic grand piano feel

The CLP 895 features Yamaha’s premium GrandTouch keyboard, complete with wooden white keys, escapement, counterweights and 88-key linear graded hammers. This allows for highly responsive control across the full range. The GrandTouch pedal system mirrors the proportions and travel paths of an acoustic grand, including the GP Response Damper, which changes resistance based on how deeply the pedal is pressed. The result is a playing experience that’s mechanically and musically close to a grand piano.

Concert-quality piano sounds

This model features meticulously sampled voices of Yamaha’s flagship CFX concert grand and the Bösendorfer Imperial, captured with both standard and binaural methods. You also get four fortepiano voices for period-correct performance of Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin, plus new lo-fi and chillout pianos ideal for contemporary styles. Grand Expression Modelling replicates subtle tonal shifts based on your touch, while Virtual Resonance Modelling recreates the rich interactions between keys, strings and pedals.

Sound that surrounds you

The CLP 895 uses six speakers powered by a triple amp system, with waveguides, dome tweeters and spruce cone woofers designed to project sound as naturally as an acoustic instrument. Bidirectional horns and internal diffusers help disperse the sound evenly around the room, while Intelligent Acoustic Control maintains tonal balance at all volume levels. Whether you're practising with headphones or performing unplugged, the sound remains deep, detailed and lifelike.

Smart features for daily use

Using the Smart Pianist app, you can access voices, effects, rhythms, recording tools and learning resources from your tablet or smartphone. The 16-track recorder supports WAV audio or MIDI capture, and the onboard rhythm accompaniments let you practise with backing drums and bass. Bluetooth Audio lets you stream tracks through the piano's speakers, and built-in lesson songs and Flowkey compatibility offer structured learning at your own pace.
