Multiple control types in one module
The PBF4 combines faders, rotary controls, and mechanical switches into a single compact controller, giving you more flexibility without increasing desk space. The metal shaft faders provide smooth resistance for controlling expression, volume, and automation, while the rotary potentiometers handle quick parameter adjustments such as EQ, filters, or synth settings.
Gateron Hall effect switches add pressure-sensitive triggering for transport controls, clip launching, or performance functions. This combination makes the module especially useful for producers and performers managing several control tasks simultaneously.
Clear visual feedback for faster workflows
Every control element includes a configurable RGB LED indicator, helping you organise layouts visually and navigate sessions more efficiently. Inside the Grid Editor software, you can assign custom colours, adjust brightness levels, or add pulsing animations to separate functions more clearly.
This becomes particularly useful in darker studio spaces or live environments where quick visual reference helps maintain workflow speed. The lighting system also allows different profile layouts to feel more intuitive when switching between projects or performance setups.
Flexible modular expansion
The magnetic Grid connection system allows the PBF4 to connect seamlessly with other Grid modules in multiple orientations. Rearranging physical modules updates automatically within the Grid Editor, making larger controller setups easier to manage.
Each module supports four onboard profile pages that can be accessed directly from the utility side button, allowing fast switching between mappings without reopening software. USB-C connectivity provides stable high-speed communication while supporting MIDI, HID keyboard, mouse, and game controller functionality across desktop and mobile platforms.
Advanced customisation through Grid Editor
The Grid Editor software gives you detailed control over mappings, lighting behaviour, profiles, and device configuration across macOS, Windows, and Linux systems. You can store custom setups directly onto the device for standalone use away from the editor, making it practical for portable or performance-based workflows.
Lua scripting support also enables more advanced functionality, including sequencers, macros, LFO-style behaviours, and custom control logic. While deeper programming options may suit more technical users, the platform still remains approachable for straightforward MIDI controller setups.
