Professional audio performance with ESS Sabre32 conversion
The MOTU 10Pre delivers pristine sound through its ESS Sabre32 DAC technology, providing 125 dB of dynamic range and very low distortion. This level of performance captures every nuance of your microphones, instruments and outboard gear with precision. Each of the ten mic inputs features independent gain, pad and 48V phantom power, ensuring transparency across every channel.
Dual high-impedance inputs are included for guitars and basses, allowing direct recording without external DI boxes. With channel one and two insert points, you can easily integrate compressors or other analogue processors into your signal chain for a fully custom workflow.
Flexible connectivity for any setup
The 10Pre connects via Thunderbolt 4 or USB4, automatically negotiating the fastest available connection. It supports up to 256 channels of computer I/O at sample rates up to 96 kHz. This flexibility makes it ideal for multi-device studio setups, hybrid systems and mobile recording environments.
You can daisy-chain up to six additional Thunderbolt devices for large-scale production systems, with 40 Gbps of bandwidth ensuring seamless performance. The interface also includes optical I/O for ADAT and S/MUX expansion, balanced analogue outputs, and two independent headphone outputs with dedicated source selection and volume control.
Powerful built-in mixer and intuitive routing
Inside the 10Pre is a 64-channel digital mixer that mirrors the layout of a traditional console. You can mix audio from physical inputs, computer channels or network streams using 32-bit floating-point precision. Each channel offers EQ, compression, gating and high-pass filtering, with 26 auxiliary buses and additional main, monitor and reverb buses.
The built-in routing grid gives you complete freedom to patch any source to any destination, or to split and duplicate signals instantly. The interface’s intuitive virtual patchbay simplifies complex workflows, while its clear metering keeps you on top of every channel in real time.
Advanced networking and wireless control
With integrated AVB networking, the MOTU 10Pre can connect to multiple compatible interfaces using standard Ethernet cables. You can expand your system with other MOTU AVB devices or link computers and audio sources across long cable runs with minimal latency. Network clocking keeps all devices in perfect sync, and configuration is straightforward thanks to true plug-and-play operation.
CueMix Pro software for macOS, Windows and iOS provides full wireless control of all mixer and routing functions, so you can adjust levels, preamps or monitor mixes from a tablet, laptop or phone. This freedom makes the 10Pre ideal for flexible studio layouts and collaborative recording sessions.
